Deaf Ministries in the NEJ make up the NEJ chapter of UMCD. With two Deaf churches, a number of interpreting ministries, Deaf groups, and Deaf Bible studies, the NEJ is has a strong representation of Deaf Ministries.

CERTIFIED LAY SERVANT Advanced
Leading Worship Like United Methodists
Workshop Description: As CLS of The UMC, Lay Servants often assist with leading congregational worship. This 10-hour Advanced workshop orients the CLS to assist with and to lead worship. Participants will have a hands-on worship experience at the end of the class.
* Note: This is only for participants who have completed a Basic CLS class.
Objectives
1. Participants will be able to list 3 or more worship activities they feel comfortable in leading.
2. Participants will be able to demonstrate one or more worship activities to support their worship assistance.
3. Participants will practice and lead the closing worship of the NEJ gathering.
